Just a reminder really..to eat the good stuff!
You should all know by now, I am a real fan of keeping my body healthy and happy. I like to make sure that I pack lots of fruits and vegetables into my diet,well.. I try my best because I know they’re packed full of goodies; they have lots of health benefits, including aiding weight loss.

As someone who has suffered from issues with their weight, I know how hard staying healthy can be. That being said, it might be hard shedding those extra pounds, but if you eat the right foods, it is doable.

Many people who are trying to lose weight make the mistake of eating processed low-fat foods. While these foods might help you shed the extra pounds, they aren’t good for your health. Instead, packing your diet with lots of fruits and vegetables is the best option. Not only will this help you to lose the extra weight, but it will also improve your general health.

Still not convinced that eating lots of fruits and vegetables is the best way to go? No – then make sure to keep reading below, for why these foods are ideal for helping you to get to your weight loss target.

Fruits and veggies contain the essentials for weight loss

Did you know that fruits and vegetables contain the three essential things that we need for weight loss? They are low in fat and calories, and they are high in fibre – these three things are crucial if you want to shed the pounds.

Fruits and vegetables are also packed full of vitamins and antioxidants; that can help to improve your general health. When we lose weight, sometimes we starve our bodies of the nutrients that they need. But by eating lots of fruits and veggies, you can make sure that your body stays healthy, inside and out.

You won’t be hungry

You might be under the impression that by swapping from junk food to fruits and veggies you will be hungry. However, that isn’t the case. If you eat the same amount of fruits and vegetables as you would snacks, you will feel just as full up, but will have saved a lot of calories.

For example, if you were to eat a 100-gram bag of Walkers crisps, you would be consuming a massive 525 calories. However, if you were to eat 100 grams worth of apples, you would only be consuming 47.5 calories. You would be getting the same amount of food, so would be full, but would have saved 477 calories.

You can eat as much fruits and vegetables as you like

For most of us, the main issue we have with dieting is being hungry.  However, by swapping to fruits and veggies instead of eating junk food, you don’t have to worry about this. You can eat as much fruit as you like without gaining weight, so you shouldn’t be hungry at all.

While it might be pricey to buy fruit and vegetables from the supermarket, there are other options to consider. In most grocery stores you pay around two pounds for a punnet of strawberries – that’s a lot of money for fruit. If you want to save money on your healthy snacks, growing your own fruits and veggies is the perfect option.

Growing your own produce is affordable, easy to do, and is a great hobby to have. All you need to do is dig a vegetable patch, plant some seeds and buy some fruit trees, and that’s it. Yes, you will need to feed and water them, but that’s a small price to pay to have all of your favourite fruits and veggies on tap.

Losing weight is hard, there are no two ways about it. However, by adding lots of fruits and vegetables to your diet, you can make things a little easier for yourself. It will still be hard, but at least you won’t be hungry.
