My personal opinion and experience:

Protein powder makes the body repair faster, keeps you fuller and is less fat then eating chicken/beef/fish ect. It’s quick to get into your diet which means it repairs you faster, which means your body can start burning fat quicker.

I bought unflavoured impact whey from MyProtein for a bargain £.25 inc P&P I got 2.5kg.

I got it so cheap because I asked for 10% off and they gave it to me. I really do think if you don’t ask, you don’t get So it’s worth asking for a great deal!
I selected this brand for my first choice as; It’s not full of additives; sugars or fats and its not the cheapest on the market. Its a really good middle ground, It’s a great powder for me because i’m not a bodybuilder, I just want enough protein to rebuild my damaged tissue when I do strength training.

I tried it as it is with water, I honestly don’t see why people say it’s disgusting, for me it was just like a creamy powdered milk! So I tried it with milk and again it’s passable but still plain.. like eating paper I imagine. Updated: I regularly drink unflavoured whey, but I add my own fruits or essence in. My personal favourite is almond essence and half a banana!


To make a banana shake & Variants: 

Freeze half a banana and used one scoop of milk blended.YUM, it is thick and really creamy tasting, I wish I could drink it everyday… Oh, i can! 🙂Banana protein ice cream: Freeze the shake, Simple. ( just for 2 hours or it crystallises)
Banana yog ice cream: Yoghurt, 4 scoops of yoghurt , 2 bananas, 2 scoops protein powder, Freeze
Fruit yog ice cream: Yoghurt, 4 scoops of yoghurt , 2 cups of fruit (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and 1 tbsp of honey), 2 scoops protein powder, Freeze.

To make a flan: 
The powder thickens quickly with a fair amount of liquid so you can add 2 scoops of powder 1 tbsp of cocoa powder and milk or water, it does taste great with milk, but it tastes just as lovely with water and its less calories! Chill it for 30 mins before serving.

Why not add it to a gluten free brownie?

Tip: Blend the banana first, then add the powder slowly, then add the milk… otherwise it’s lumpy or it splatters all up the blender.
Tip: You can substitute the milk with Soy Rice or almond milk, but I recommend using a banana with semi skimmed as; Whey is just milk protein and bananas are made up of carbs that your body will be craving.

Daily note: So far i feel exactly the same.Well, i feel a little better, but I did get to have a creamy banana milk shake, yum.

The next day: I feel fantastic, no aches or pains…a bit of bloat but I think that’s water retention, I’ve increased my water to 8 pints a day.I went on to drink this every day and eventually gained weight from it, I now drink it only after strength sessions on ‘carb-free’ weekends, this is the best way for me to get the stamina I need.
