I believe listening to your body is the most important thing, your body knows what it needs and when it needs it. Eat when you feel you need to (as long as your hydrated) you’ll be fine.

So glad you’re feeling better again. Have a fabulous mothers day.
Amy.

I am 53 yr old woman and this method of eating has always been my preferred way going back to infancy. My parents always called me a lazy eater. I would the last one at the table whose plate was full. I did not like to eat breakfast nor lunch, I drank a lot of water. I always got in trouble by my parents, and physicians. They would say that I was starving myself. In turn, I gave in multiple times, thinking that I had a disorder. Doing a change to my diet by eating 3 times a day, I would gain a lot of weight and I would feel miserable, even if I worked out really hard. Last summer, I was feeling super great, I had been back to my natural way of eating and the doctor again told me that I was starving myself and that I was doing damage to my internal organs, even if I was feeling great, my blood work (cholesterol, glucose), and blood pressure were optimal. I’ve put on 20 lbs so I’ve decided to go back to eating to my natural rhythm. Love my greens, my healthy fats and my protein. Basically, I eat when I am hungry which happens to be around 7 or 8 at night. I drink a lot of lemon water and regular water during the day. This works for me. Listening to my body, I believe is key. Thank you for your article.

I’m struggling with 16/8 at the moment (after an all inclusive holiday). So I’m trying to get my numbers back up but I’m looking to go to 17.7 when I can! It’s just a better way for my brain to process my hunger when I IF.

I’ve been intermittent fasting for almost 3 years. I’ve been doing 16/8 until about 8 weeks ago when I started doing 19/5 after listening to a podcast from the guy who wrote Fast 5 Diet. Sounds crazy but I like the smaller eating window even better. I started IF for the anti-aging benefits. It’s nice that I dropped a few pounds too.
I love hearing what others have to say about IF.
