I’m waiting for summer… Much like most of the year! It seems to be so fleeting in England but neither the less I’m looking forward to it and my pre-beach body prep is well underway. I’ve cut back my weights and upped my cardio. Hello flat stomach!
It’s really trying to break through – yes I see you, little ray of the sunshine in my garden.
We’re so close to throwing out our inhibitions and setting down in a beer garden, just..not there yet. I know this because all week I wanted to take pretty photos of my new bikini. I had it all planned; dress, hat, sunglasses… I have a beautiful terrace of flowers covering my garden which would look so good in photos so I can show off my new bikini.
The issue was my bloaty belly (I’ve been eating a tonne of lentils, legumes and beans #protein) recently so my belly wasn’t happy with the idea of bearing my skin to you all. I’m all for body confidence and showing how my body can change so quickly. Some day’s I can squeeze, I mean duck-tape me up, into a pair of 8’s and on other days nothing feels better than a pair of size 12 joggers and a floaty top. So why Is it when I want to show off my body it goes to pot?
HELLOW TUMMY – Long time no see -How are you?
What is a ‘Bikini-body’
It’s literally any ‘body’ that wants to wear a bikini. It is not a negative term- not for or from me anyway. It’s a statement of health and commitment and I am so excited to finally get back to my bikini body! I’m really not ashamed to say that, I work harder on my body in the summer months. I enjoy showing off my hard work by buying new clothing!
We should all aim to be healthy all the time but also enjoy the foods that we want to, in moderation. I’m happy in the fact that I eat a healthy ‘whole foods’ diet most of the time (today it was the chia seeds that made my body look like this) and..when Tesco do a ‘free-from’ trial I can have a week of enjoying the easy ‘express’ meals they have on offer. There aren’t a lot of ready meals that are gluten-free and vegan so when I do get to enjoy these it normally makes me swell a bit and you know what? – I’m ok with it!
My diet; I’m still eating a vegan diet but I drifted away from whole-foods a bit in recent weeks; add more fake foods, proteins, ready meals etc. Which is why I’m not as slim and toned as normal which is my own mistake. This week I’ve gone back to whole foods-esque eating so hopefully, I’ll shrink back to my size 10 frame. Although my butt is really growing at the moment, I’m so proud of my glute workout routine!
My workouts; I’ve decreased my weights down to twice a week. Once on leg and glute day and once on arms. I’ve also started running, I’m horrendous at it. I’m up to 3 miles 3 times a week but it’s tough! 12-minute miles is the pace I’m setting but I’m hoping to go
Getting off track here a bit –
Basically, I love my body all year round (some months I love it a bit more). We should all be proud of our bodies if we’re looking after them to the best of our ability. Whether that be eating right when we can or staying active on our days off.
Hunkemoller’s 2017 Catwalk Inspired Swimwear Collection
Is the range that this bikini came from (although I asked for one that wasn’t on their initial list- ask and you shall receive!) I adore the style, it’s very vintage. Rich blue with a very contrasting bright white – something about it is just a bit more luxury than my typical plain colour bikini’s I normally have.
I just feel a bit more sophisticated – Baring in mind I don’t look like the catalogue model, I’m still happy with it!
The Bikini is sold in separates so you can mix and match a bit if you like. The top is £32 and the bottoms are £14 which is a bargain when you consider the quality. It’s comfy and sturdy, two words you wouldn’t hear me describing my normal swimwear so it’s a breath of fresh air not having to worry about see-through fabric or straps falling off shoulders. No nip-slips here!
What is your summer-style? Halterneck goddess… A Classy one piece or a flirty bikini?
*Yes this was a sponsored post but it in no way reflects my opinion on how good this bikini looks (when my belly isn’t bloated from my IBS). I’ve been eating a lot of processed foods from the #freefrom week, things I’m not used to with a lot of added salt and sugar so I think that’s why I’m a bit bloaty recently.
