Elegant Floating Candles for under 3p a Candle.

My mother and father are celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary and i have taken it upon myself ( regrettably) to organize this event. In keeping with the cheap budget ideas for this website i have been asking friends and family to save glass jars for me to decorate so here’s what you’ll need.
Collect Jars! This means they’re free!
Scents* you can buy for 99p from a craft shop.

*or boil up some oranges and use that water ( the oils scent the water)
** bath scents for a relaxed scent.

Paint or PVA and glitter
Tape or Sticky plastic that can be used for stopping the paint.
Cheap candles a bg of 100 can be bought for £1.50

Firstly thoroughly clean out the jars! Mold can grow quickly so it needs to be thorough.

Tape up a shape ect a heart and paint over it in lines ( if you paint it neatly it will be difficult to get it perfect) Rough lines make it look intentional.
Wait for the paint to dry and peel of the tape  OR

Paste glue over the tape and sprinkle glitter over the glue and wait for it to dry.

Peel the tape off and fill the jar 2/3 full with 2 or 3 drops of the scent ( depending on what you use), bath scents will need more and orange water will need to be 2/3 of the jar.

Gently drop your cheap candles in the jar and light it using a long lighter. e-voila your own cheap scented candles.

They worked out for me to be for 100 candles and 1/3 of a jar of scent was £2.49  30 candles = 82p

For you maybe
99p paint

99p scent

2.00 candles

celotape 50p
 = £4.48 4.4p
