Why you should workout harder

sometimes it’s not about doing what you can, when you can. Sometimes it has to be about doing as much as your body can take. Test your limits.

 Stronger – Faster – Better

Yes, I know. It can be hard to ‘test your limits’ when you’re a working mother or father or just a busy person. You don’t want to be sore the next day, or you feel tired after work. After all, going full blast on a treadmill isn’t something a couch potato can just ‘decide’ to do one day. It takes time and patience to master your body.
Once you have? You’ll be wanting to workout and create a new challenge for yourself daily! The reason is? It’s fun! Challenges are fun, knowing how much we can lift, sweat, run, balance. It’s all fun!

 

My favourite workouts are the ones that I struggled with on the first day but kept doing. By day 6 or day 46 I’d have it mastered and feel like a champion. Those are the workouts that mean the most. Hunch over and get your breath, wipe the sweat from your brow and carry on. They’re the ones you remember because you beat your body.

Motivate yourself to do better.

Today I have been out for my 20-minute run, not particularly hardcore but I’m going to the gym for an upper body session later so I’m keeping it tame until then. I’ve fueled up on a muesli breakfast with banana and my lunch was a pickled carrot and cucumber salad wrap with a sweet red onion hummus.

Get your frustrations out

We all have those days, weeks, months where the frustrations mount up and we have no release. That pent up frustration can cause stress or lethargy – which can cause weight gain and even more lethargy. It’s a vicious circle and one I have felt myself in the past.

You don’t need to punch a punching bag to release your pent up energy you could try any interval training workout or cardio. Destress yourself with a bit of Swimming, Running, Kickboxing, Combat classes or dance fit!

Get some control back

I’m not sure about you but doing a workout daily makes me feel like I have some control over things in my life. Schedule a routine and a reason to get up early, to get things done and feel empowered about my own strengths. A list of things of things to keep yourself in a routine and a motivational push.

Depending on when your best time to workout is, are you an early riser or do you get your burst of energy at night? What ever is best for you, plan to workout around those times and never skip a workout. control is about routine and planning.

Feel awesome

For me, knowing that I put everything into my workout makes me feel incredible. I know I’ve achieved what I set out to do and much like getting control of myself I feel more positive about how things are planning out in life. I have an increased metabolism and energy for the whole day! There are several reasons to push past your limits. Not because you want better results but because you want to change bad habits.

Not only does it feel awesome to commit to an intensive exercise routine it also has great benefits for your health, helping you to lose weight and tone up quickly and efficiently. It offers you a full body fat loss and tone up.

I have spoken for years about how amazing workouts feel, not only for the physical health benefits but for the mental health advantages you receive too. The above reasons; Getting your frustrations out and getting control back in your life both lead to feeling awesome. Releasing your frustrations releases pent up stress which can lead to a happier gut and brain. Having an organised routine will help you focus on your daily tasks and feel positive about your achievements too.

So, what ever workout you do, make sure you’re putting in 100% to get the best results. All workouts will benefit you but working out to not achieve results will result in a negative attitude to your health.

    Totally true, I loved this post! I always timetable in my workouts for the week so I know exactly where they are on my schedule and have no excuse for missing out!

    Very inspiring post! I have recently started working out and I find that the harder I push myself, the more great I feel after my workout! I also find that planning my workouts is the key, planning truly does help!

    Planning is absolutely key to being in control and keeping on top of your workouts, which in turn will keep you fit, strong and healthy. I totally agree Amy. And yes, the harder your workout, the more rewarding it will be long-term, seeing yourself hit targets you never thought possible. Tx
