Vegan Chocolate Orange Brownies

This one has been sitting in my drafts for such a long time I’ve almost, almost, forgotten what they taste like. But the mouth-watering temptation of eating more of this ‘not-terry’s’ chocolate Brownie is too much to forget about this recipe.

Of course, if orange isn’t your cup of tea then indulging in a layer of glazed cherry’s with a hidden cherry compote underneath would be just as tempting.

Chocolate-Orange is just my ultimate chocolate combination.

Ingredients
Servings: 6/8 slices
Instructions
  1. Step 1- Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees and line a square baking tin with grease proof paper.
  2. In a Large mixing bowl, Measure out and combine your dry ingredients; Flour, Cocoa, Sughttp://purelyamy.co.uk/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=recipe#ar, protein, flax, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
  3. Whilst your ingredients are all ready and waiting, prep your orange. Slice it as thinly as possible, I use a very delicate tomato knife and I layed slices on the bottom of the tin saving six for the top
  4. Combine the wet ingredients into the mixture slowly, excluding the margerine. Once they're combined you can now add the marge (I leave it until last as it can just get too soggy and then clumpy!)
  5. The mixture should be fairly thick, pouring slowly, move your mixture to the side of the container. I like to leave a very light dip in the centre of the brownies, so the rise evenly.
  6. Pin on Pinterest Step 4- Pour in the vanilla extract, oil and milk and mix. Step 5- Fold in the crushed oreo cookies and melted chocolate. Step 6- Pour the mix into the lined baking tin and pop into the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. You will know they are done when you put a knife or skewer in and it comes out clean and they are springy to the touch.
Recipe Notes

Top tip - Cut your orange into quarter slices, you get much more orange in each bite!
